Workers at Schlosser’s Creamery, Bremen, line up for a picture in this undated photo submitted by R.T. and Virginia Henke of Bremen. Around the turn of the century, the Schlosser Brothers were the largest manufacturers of dairy products in Indiana. A 1931 report by Charles Roll of Lewis Publishing Co. said that of the 64 million pounds of butter manufactured annually in Indiana, Schlosser Brothers made over 13 million pounds. The company was based in Frankfort, Ind. and operated five manufacturing plants in Plymouth, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend and Bremen. Their first establishment was on their father’s farm near Bremen.
